It is with great pleasure we welcome the return of premiership player and dual best & fairest winner, Joe Groenewegen for the next two seasons, Joe has spent the last four years interstate in the Army Reserve.

The 28yr old said “I have always planned to return to Tasmania and play for Launceston again in the Tasmanian State League, I kept a close eye on the live stream games and result last year and its clear the club is in an exciting position, I am looking forward to being part of the football club again and the environment that has been recently created”.

Joe, won the 2014 and 2016 McAuley medal as an athletic ruckman who had the ability to push forward and hit the scoreboard.

Coach Mitch Thorp said “in a challenging time its important we continue building our list and keep an eye on the present and an eye on the future from a list management view point. Joe is 198cm, has strong hands, covers the ground particularly well and is a former LFC player who fits the age demographic we have targeted in the last 6months, all ingredients we believe will be beneficial for short and long term success”.

Welcome back, Joe.
