Match Report:

What a difference two weeks can make.

After a horrid performance against Hobart City in Round 10, the boys have had a tough soul searching two weeks on the track and have earned themselves a massive 80 point win today over Devonport.

In what was a very historic day for the Launceston Football Club and in particular one club legend Beau Green, who broke a 30 year record held by Paul Ellis for games played for the Blues by running out for the 254th time.

With a few changes, adding more height and experience to a young side, the Blues hit the game with the intensity that Scott Stephens has been looking for all year, and never stopped all day kicking their highest score for the year of 18.12.120 and holding the opposition to the 2nd lowest score this year against the Blues, 6.4.40.

It would have been very tough selecting the Best 6 players on the ground today as you could have thrown a blanket over a dozen or so great performances. Jake Smith would have grabbed BOG honours with 45 touches, 8 marks, 4 tackles and 2 goals. Scott Stephens lead from the front and continues his great form with 36 disposals and 8 marks. Beau Green showed no signs of slowing down in his 254th game racking up 26 possessions, 6 marks, 4 tackles and even snagging a goal in the 4th quarter.

Joe Groenewegen (1 goal), Jake Rice (3 goals), Rohan Sergeant (3 goals) and Cameron Downie were brilliant all day with Tom Cleary impressing again across half back in his first game back since his injury several weeks ago whilst Brennan Savage booted another 4 goals to push his tally to 18 in 8 games.

Boyce, Claridge, Dyer, T.Sheppard the list goes on and on with solid contributions all day. Fantastic team effort.

Now we need to back up this performance next week against Burnie at Windsor Park.
