Kade set to make his AFL debut.

March 26, 2014

2013 AFL draftee Kade Kolodjashnij is all set to make his AFL debut for Gold Coast this weekend.

18 year old Kade joined Launceston as a 13 year old and was placed into our development program where he flourished, playing for the Tassie Mariners and squeezing in 25 games for the Launceston Seniors before being picked up in the 2013 National Draft at pick 5 by the Gold Coast Suns.

He will be the 13th player drafted from the Launceston Football Club to play in the VFL/AFL since 1973, and 4th in the past 3 years.

He joins current Launceston Football Club draftees currently in the AFL: Tom Bellchambers (Essendon), Tim Mohr (GWS), Jesse Lonergan (Gold Coast), Jackson Thurlow (Geelong) and twin brother Jake Kolodjashnij (Geelong) who we are also eagerly awaiting his debut.

Kade will be heading over to Perth to play against current ladder leaders Fremantle on Saturday with the game starting at 4:40pm AEDT. He’ll be donning the number 28 for the Suns.

We would like to wish Kade all the best for his AFL debut and congratulate him on this achievement.
