The Blues enjoyed a dream start to 2014 with a hard fought win over the Western Storm at Aurora Stadium. The Blues hit the front at the 12 minute mark of the first quarter and were never headed but it remained a tight contest all day with a 17 point lead at half time becoming an 18 point win at the final siren thanks to 2 late goals from Co-Captain Joe Boyce.

Main goal kickers were Brennan Savage with 2 (could have finished with 5 or 6), Joe Boyce, Jake Rice and Corey Sheppard all with 2. Jordan Harris and the legendary Gary Shipton controlled the back half while Joe Groenewegen, Sam Rundle, Joe Krushka, Corey Sheppard, Coach Scott Stephens and “Big Sav’ Brennan Savage ensured our young fit enthusiastic next generation had the support they needed to play their part in a great first up 2014 victory for the Blues.

Our TSL 2’s team also showed there is another wave of outstanding talent coming through with a thumping 99 point win over the Western Storm to give Coach Darrin Geard the perfect start for 2014.
